Four Schools, One Book

Four Schools One Book is coming soon! Our four elementary schools, K through 5th grade, will be reading the same book. On January 6th, our elementary students will be introduced to this new book. When the title is announced, the principals will be reading the first chapter to students during the Four Schools One Book launch assembly. If you don’t have time to read with your child on some nights, we got that covered for you! For the remainder of the project, you can access videos of the assigned chapters being read by students (6th through 12th grade) from Kaneland on your school's website. So parents/guardians, be on the lookout on January 6th for your child to come home with their very own book to keep, along with a reading calendar.

Mary McGrory, Pulitzer award-winning journalist, noted the following about common reading programs: “The idea is that the city that opens the same book, closes it in greater harmony.” We can’t wait to see how the extraordinary story that was chosen will impact our students and inspire lifelong readers in our school community. The adventure awaits!
