Calling it a missed year is an understatement. How can we expect our child to assimilate when they haven’t been practicing their social skills? What about the child who was shy, introverted or lonely before COVID? Academics are critical, yet we shortchange our children when we discount the importance of social connection. In this presentation, Caroline Maguire will share how you can support your child to (re)build important relationships with peers and adults. You will learn how to coach your child and teach them social skills including listening, managing emotions, being flexible and reading social cues. As with any other skill, if not practiced and used, social skills become rusty.
