The Word Collector “WORD PROJECT” and Peter Reynolds
Did you know that Early Childhood and MidValley participated in Four School, One Book by reading The Word Collector by Peter Reynolds? To help bring The Word Collector to LIFE, we collected WORDS.
Everyone (teachers, students, support staff, custodians, administration, EVERYONE) was invited to write their favorite word on a yellow piece of paper and then drop it in The Word Collector bucket. The bucket was right by Mrs. Granger’s desk. (Mrs. Granger is the life size prop we used to launch our other Four Book, One School book…Frindle.) Our EC friends helped us clip the word on a clothesline so we could hang our words around school. It was great to see so many participate in this vocabulary enhancing project.
