After being canceled the past two years, our Conference Art Show was back with a vengeance this year! On Saturday, March 12th KHS Visual Art students Maddy, Faith, Adam, Hannah, Sammy, Dietre, Mayah, Anjali, Abby, Sam, Syda, and Mikalah competed at LaSalle Peru High School.
Their artwork was judged by current and retired high school and community college Art Faculty. During judging, students attended workshops on mixed media, knotless netting with plastic coated wire, basket weaving, wet felted flowers, low relief mandalas, and the art of henna.
KHS brought home 6 ribbons, which may be the most in school history!
Senior, Faith took 3rd place for Computer Generated Art.
Senior, Adam took 2nd place for Commercial Graphic Design.
Sophomore, Anjali placed 3rd for Oil and Acrylic Painting.
Junior, Mayah took 3rd place for 2D Mixed Media.
Sophomore, Syda took 2nd place for Altered Photography.
Junior, Dietre took 2nd place for Unaltered Photography.
Mrs. VB, Mrs. Larsen, and Mrs. Damisch are so proud of ALL of these students, and are thankful to their elementary and middle school Art Teachers for providing students with such a strong foundation!
