Summer Professional Learning

Kaneland Teachers Engage in Summer Professional Learning

School may have been out for the summer but Kaneland staff were still learning! Throughout summer break, teachers from all grade spans chose to participate in professional learning sessions on various topics including social-emotional learning (SEL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and writing interventions. Additionally a self-paced book study of the text Building Thinking Classrooms in Math began, and the district’s first Personalized Learning Bootcamp took place! The sessions were facilitated by district Instructional and Behavior Coaches, the Personalized Learning Coordinator, and an independent writing consultant. Professional learning opportunities will continue to be made available to staff throughout the school year, via the district’s Educational Services Department.
