Baby Bottle Boats

Mrs. Wilson's enhanced chemistry students are using stoichiometric principles to prepare for their upcoming baby bottle regatta.  They are learning to calculate the correct amount of baking soda and citric acid necessary to power their baby bottle boats with COgas and make them go a specific distance.

On regatta day they are given a secret distance to run the baby bottles, and they will be able to do this using only their graphs and a calculator.  The students really enjoy working through the scientific process and making the perfect tweaks to run their bottles exactly the distance they want it to go.
