Kaneland Meredith Academic Center hosted a Emergency Medical Services Jamboree on April 14, 2023. Students enjoyed the day learning and working with individuals in the healthcare field and fire service as they rotated stations throughout the day with Indian Valley Vocational Center EMT(Emergency Medical Technicians) and EMR (Emergency Medical Responders). The stations consisted of capnography, 12-lead EKG with Aurora Fire Department Ambulance and medic crew, patient assessments of both medical and trauma patients, mock interviews with ambulance companies and human resource departments.
Superior Medical brought a helicopter for students to examine and talk with the flight crew. There were also various department's ambulances for students to explore.
In the afternoon, Fox Valley hosted an Industry Fair to talk to students about their jobs, networking and let them know how to get involved and all the different career opportunities that are available. Thank you to all of our departments that came out for a fun learning day!
