Recently, 4th & 5th grade students at Kaneland McDole Elementary School had the privilege of experiencing a virtual author visit with children’s book author, Lindsay Currie. Currie, a resident of Chicago, is the author of several middle grade novels, including The Peculiar Incident on Shady Street, The Girl in White, and It Found Us. Currie virtually presented information on the writing process including researching, generating ideas, and editing to our students. One major theme that emerged from the experience was in order to improve as writers, you have to keep practicing your writing!
