Hall of Fame Inductees

 Maple Park, IL - Kaneland’s Hall of Fame honors and recognizes alumni, staff members, organizations and supporters who have demonstrated excellence and commitment of service to District 302 communities and have each proven themselves to be an inspiration and role-model to our students. This year, the Hall of Fame Committee is proud to induct the following individuals and team who will be recognized during the 2024 - 2025 school year.

● James Anderson in the category of Individual Athletic Achievement as a Third Place Shot Put Medal
winner in 1966. James Anderson was also Kaneland’s first all-state athlete in track and field, setting the
school record for his shot put toss.

● Ben Barnes in the category of Individual Athletic Achievement as a 2014 State Champion for Long Jump.Ben jumped 23 feet 5 inches to secure his Class 2A Boys State Championship.

● Nate Dyer in the category of Individual Athletic Achievement as a 2014 State Champion for Shot Put. Nate achieved his personal best throw at 58 feet, 5 1⁄4 inches to seal the Class 2A Boys State Championship.

● Lyndsie Long in the category of Individual Athletic Achievement for excellence in basketball and softball. Lyndsie Long was a regional champion and participated in the IHSA Girls Basketball Class AA State playoffs. She went on to play basketball for Elmhurst College where she scored the most points ever in a single game, the most field goals in a single game and the most three-pointers in a game. She was named NCAA Division III First Team All-American. She currently coaches at Downers Grove South where she recently led her team to the first conference championship.

● 2014 Track Team in the category of Teamwork as a second place trophy winner at the State Track meet. The 2014 Track Team, who were coached by Eric Baron, won every dual meet and invitational up to the State Finals, where they took second in the IHSA State Finals. They had 13 different athletes earn All-State status. Kaneland’s 84 points at the State finals were a historic mark for a second place team and provided them with the status of one of the all-time greatest track teams in Illinois.
